Glass forest

This work explores a formal parallel with Finnish visual culture, drawing from the balance of restraint, materiality, and light characteristic of Finnish art and design.

The reference points include the cool tonal density and synthesis of expression and simplicity found in Särestöniemi, Gallen-Kallela, and Halonen, as well as the clarity and crafted transparency associated with Iittala glass. These qualities are examined here within a black-and-white photographic abstraction.

Part of the Vertical Diffusion project.
