Liberation from control and freedom from limitations led the author to explore the visual perception of space and time. The camera became a tool for painterly gesture, creating new dimensions of reality beyond traditional representation.
In this search, the author draws inspiration from the Dadaists, the Irascible 18 —pioneers of American Abstract Expressionism—and the photography of Ernst Haas, Saul Leiter, and the Japanese are-bure-boke aesthetic. These influences help the artist reimagine photography as an expressive medium, shaping the concept of meta-photography.
As in Action Painting, where the act of creation is part of the artwork, in meta-photography, the act of exposure becomes an integral part of the final image. Instead of simply capturing external reality, it focuses on the act of creation itself. The camera becomes a medium for deconstructing reality, where light, color, and movement are key elements of the transformation.
The capturing process is directly imprinted on the sensor, integrating the act of creation into the image. The artist’s presence is essential, shaping the final result through gestures, light manipulations, color, and movement. In this way, the creation process becomes part of the work, making the camera a tool for self-expression, not just documentation.
Using Leica cameras ironically, the author subverts traditional photographic values, such as focus and sharpness, turning the act of capturing into a conscious creative process. Light and color become the materials, and movement is the shaping force. This disruption redefines what it means to ‘capture’ an image, transforming technical elements into expressive tools.
The author views a high level of detail and the large scale as crucial for perception. It amplifies the artistic expression and provokes a deeper emotional response. Mounted and framed, the printed artwork is an essential component of the creative concept. Its size and presentation bring the artist’s intent to life and establish an immediate emotional connection with the viewer.

Personal Instagram acts as a chronicle, documenting artistic evolution in real time. It’s not a showcase of the best works, but a tool for exploring and analyzing mistakes. It’s also a convenient way to connect.
